Through the Child Development Center on the NC State campus, students have access to a hands-on lab that is National Association for the Education of Young Children accredited.

North Central State College offers three Early Childhood Education programs that satisfy Ohio Jobs and Family Services requirements for administrators of child care programs. These programs also satisfy requirements for the Ohio Department of Education Pre-K Associate Teacher Licensure.

The Administration Option is for students interested in the management aspect of child care programs. It does not provide a teaching license. Students who choose this option have accounting and other business course requirements that the other ECE options do not include.

download PDF The Infant/Toddler Option is designed for students who are interested in working with children from birth to age three. Students who choose this option will have more focus on infant/toddler environments and relationship building.
download PDF The Prekindergarten Option includes Directed Practicum (Student Teaching and Student Teaching Seminar). This is the only ECE option that leads to a Prekindergarten Associate Teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
